Running Killing Floor on Proton-Experimental will give a near flawless experience. While there is a slight temp cost, any average gpu should be able to handle this with absolutely no problem. Having adopted a 1080ti shortly following its release, I've been able to quite consistently hit or even exceed my monitors frame rate. To bit put this in a bit of personal context, I've been using a 144hz monitor as my main display for well over 3 years now.
